The Hierarchy of Communication
In the digital age, effective communication is paramount. At Hill Country Coders, we follow a strict hierarchy to ensure speed, clarity, and personal connection.
1. The Phone Call (Primary)
Why: Real-time conversation, immediate feedback, and tone interpretation.
Goal: Resolve misunderstandings instantly and build rapport.
2. The Text Message (Secondary)
Why: If the call is unanswered, text immediately. It is a bridge between the immediacy of a call and the formality of an email.
Goal: Ensure they know you tried to reach them.
3. The Email (Last Resort)
Why: Documentation. Relying solely on this leads to misinterpretation and delay.
Goal: Detailed exchanges only after other attempts.
🚫 Don’t Hide Behind Email
Using email as a first step conveys a lack of urgency and avoids personal connection. If you want to sell, you must speak.
